If you plan to get your first tattoo, here are some tips that may help you to do it the right way.
Once you have thought about all of the social issues and stereotypes about people with tattoos, what your employer and family is going to think, and if you can live with it for the rest of your life, you are ready to get your first tattoo!
Start getting an idea about what type of tattoo design you want. Start visiting local tattoo studios and visit with the artists if they have a few minutes, and look at what type of work these tattoo artists have done on other people. Look at their tattoo design portfolios and ask questions.
Try to have a few pictures in hand of your tattoo design ideas, and ask to schedule a consultation with the artist when you have found a studio that you like. The tattoo artist will then make a few recommendations regarding what type of tattoo design you want and where you want to put it.
You can always go back for a second or even third consultation until you are comfortable and are in agreement with the artist about the tattoo design and terms, especially if it is going to be a large tattoo that requires more extensive planning.
