Deciding to get a tattoo is only
part of the dilemma one faces when one opts to have a tattoo. The other part
lies in choosing the right tattoo design for the tattoo. If you are a patriot
of America and its ideals, then it proves best to show off your pride in the
country by having an American tattoo.
Patriotic themes are the best
choices for an American tattoo where the American flag, both as waving in the
breeze or lying flat is the most popular of all American tattoos. This American
flag can be used as a single theme, or as a backdrop for other symbols. You
don’t have to use only the current flag as the American tattoo. Some people
prefer the Confederate flag and others the original Betsy Ross flag with
thirteen stars. There are also some people who prefer to display their state
flags too.
Military tattoos are another
form of American tattoos where the popular designs are Sabers for marines,
wings for air force, tanks for army and anchors for the navy. Military personnel
can wear this American tattoo as long as they don’t show when in uniform.
The latest addition to the list
of American tattoos is designs related to the events of September 11, 2001. This
date had brought many Americans together where there was a surge of tattoos
memorializing the day and those who died on the day. There are many unique
American tattoos of the day like the twin towers, police badges, fire fighters
and American flags. Some people who had lost their loved ones have had them
memorialized as a tattoo with their names and images.
The Bald Eagle, one of America’s
national symbols forms inspiration for thousands of American tattoos. The
eagles are depicted in flight, in head studies and used with other tattoo
designs like flags and military designs. There are also state symbols used as American
tattoos that include the Ohio buckeye, Georgia peach, Illinois cardinal and
Michigan cherry.
Even the simple American tattoo
of ‘Made in the USA’ is a great tattoo that indicates that you were born in
America, and are very proud of it. Then there are Native American tattoos that are
symbols of original Americans. They include eagle feathers, arrowheads and
dream catchers.
Now with the tattoo design
chosen, you next have to find the right tattoo artist to draw the tattoo on your
body. Though there are many tattoo artists to choose from, it is always better
to choose the tattoo artist who is experienced and practices healthy safe and
hygienic means of drawing tattoos. This is because tattoo artists who don’t
practice safe methods may only make you end up with an infection at the place
of the tattoo.
So it can be seen it is up to
you to use your imagination, and the national symbols of America creatively to
come up with American tattoos worth making in your hand. With an American
tattoo on your sleeve, you can very well show your love for the country.
