Foot Tattoos

Tattooing the fine art of making indelible marks on the human body has a long history, perhaps as old as human civilization. While the reasons for tattooing one’s body has changed over a period of time the popularity of this art has always been on the increase and the ever increasing tattoo studios speaks of the current craze and trend in modern tattooing.  

Before one takes a decision to go for a tattoo it would be appropriate to know a bit of this age old art. The first point one has to bear in mind is that once a tattoo is made on the body it will be much difficult if not impossible to remove the same due to the complicated procedure involved in getting rid of these marks.

Tattoos can be made on any visible part of the body of one’s choice. However the arms, legs, the chest, the breasts, the back of the body and back of the neck are the usual areas of the body tattooed.

While men prefer large tattoos women normally like to have small tattoos of intricate designs, flowers and butterflies. Foot is a discreet place for women to get tattooed. Small and unique tattoos of a female’s choice are best suited on foot and ankles.

Foot tattoos are the symbol of purity and simplicity. Many women prefer it as it does not exhibit and visible only for the close and intimate people. Foot tattoos are very popular among many career and professional women for the simple fact that it is not so overbearing and very personal.

Though a wide variety of choice in designs are available for foot tattoos women normally prefer tribal symbol, floral or a simple initial. Just like one’s handwriting or signature reveals the personality the tattoos also exposes the personality of the individual.

Having decided to go for a tattoo on the foot the next step is to find out a good tattooist and a state of the art tattoo studio. It is always wise to avoid unhygienic studios and novice artists that may save a few dollars but may cost the valuable health. One needs to remember that un cleaned needles and un hygienic inks may cause fatal infections like hepatitis.

If one has an idea of a good design for the foot tattoo one can straight walk into a good studio and fix up an appointment. However it is better to discuss with the artist about your idea so that an experienced opinion may also be considered. Foot tattoos are normally small and cute and if the artist finds that the design you have in mind is a bit large he may work with you to make it fit for your feet. Who knows perhaps the artist may give a better idea also?

Once you get your foot tattooed it is very important to take care of it especially during the initial days. The foot can get infected in case proper care is not taken.One need to avoid sun light for a few days immediately following the tattooing to keep the colors vibrant for long.

Contact with salt water or chlorinated water can be damaging to the color since they may cause bleeding of the colors and may cost dearly for a person who has a new tattoo. Foot tattoos speaks volumes of one’s personality and style. If you want to communicate in a gentle sweet way about yourself, your feelings and emotions foot tattoos are the best option.

I dont have a tattoo, though i am going to in about a week. i have decided to get it on my foot and i am nervous because i heard that it hurts a lot worst on your foot than any where else. does n e one have n e thing to help the fear?

My first tattoo is on my foot. It's a skull with roses and a banner that says Memento Mori. I love it, and I'm going to get another on my other foot soon....definately well worth it

My daughter and I got matching tattoos on our foot. It is a butterfly but when you look closer it is actually a tiger face. It's really cute.

My mom and I are both very into tattoos, and about 2 years ago we got matching "chicken feet" tattoos on our feet like the Dixie Chicks. They are so cute!
